We're excited to announce that Emmy Award-winning television personality Steve Thomas has just signed on to be one of Planet Green's experts on green building and renovations. Most of you might recognize him from his 14-year stint on the home-improvement show This Old House. Thomas was honored with a 1997-1998 Daytime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Service Show Host,” and he has received a total of nine nominations throughout his career.

A former spokesman for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Home Performance with Energy Star program, Thomas has encouraged sustainable building and energy-conservation technologies in new and old houses for over two decades.

“I am very excited to join Planet Green, as my passion is in the green future of building and renovation,” Thomas says. “There are many projects that use cool design and sustainable technologies, and we can’t wait to share those stories with viewers. Whether your home is large or small, new or old, we want to show you how easy it is to go green.”

We look forward to seeing what Thomas comes up with for both Planet Green and TreeHugger. ::Steve Thomas Online

I think Steve is kicking butt on Renovation Nation. It is so much easier to see how all of these new green systems work in real time, and Steve always makes me laugh. I got tired of driving 90 - 180 miles one way to attend green seminars, so I started a "green mixer" here in town, and get the "teachers" to drive to us. Our last one was Friday with a focus on our potential, new, local, voluntary green residential rating system, and I went on and on about Planet Green and Renovation Nation in my opening remarks encouraging everyone to check both out.
