Clara Cabin by Bryan Meyer and Anne Ryan

Six years ago this little cabin in Minnesota jumped out at me from the pages of Dale Mulfinger's book "the Cabin: Inspiration for the Classic American Getaway". Working at the time on small modern prefabs, there were so many things I loved about it; the scale, the shutters that sealed it up, the folding bed and the zen minimalism of it. Only 220 square feet; talk about living with less.
Now, that eagle-eyed Justin at ::Matericalicious has found it on the website of Hive Modular; it was built by partner Bryan Meyer with his wife Anne Ryan.

"The only technology incorporated is a 12 volt lighting system powered by a solar charged marine battery. Two sides of the building open to draw in the adjacent national forest land and allow views to the lake. Three bi-folding doors operate independently, allowing the user to open just one or all, thus converting the interior in to a stage-like volume (and a chapel, since we were married there). Small aperture-like windows contrast the large openings and provide framed views of the surrounding wilderness."
