Wear Test: Loomstate for Barneys Green's Reflection Jeans

We recently pulled on a pair of jeans that Loomstate developed together with Barneys New York, a partnership that aspires to champion all that is sexy, stylish, and eco-friendly on and off the catwalk. Loomstate for Barneys Green's Reflection, dubbed the "ultimate green jean," is a straight-cut number that hugs your natural waist and elongates your legs with its clean, unbroken lines.

Made from ring-spun 100 percent organic-cotton yarns that are woven into denim fabric on vintage narrow shuttle looms right here in the U.S. of A., Reflection is buttery soft against your skin.

Details we love: A green selvedge line that is visible on the out-seam when you turn up the hem of your pants; Loomstate's signature blank label perched on the belt line on the back; and polka-dot pocket linings, secreted within like a private joke we actually get.

One caveat: Contrary to what we've come to expect from our denim, these $295 jeans are by no means low-maintenance. Chucking 'em in the washer and dryer will cause colors to bleed and the fabric to shrink. In fact, Loomstate recommends you wash your jeans as infrequently as possible, and even then, while you're wearing them in the shower. ::Loomstate for Barneys Green

Here's how the meeting went that lead to the production of those jeans:

Steve: Everyone, today I want to present you with an idea so revolutionary, so fresh and so ingenious that it is sure to send our stock SOARING within moments of it being in the news.
Everyone: What is it?
Steve: I present to you, $295 mom-jeans!
Everyone: ooooooooooo
Steve1: But wait, it gets better!
Everyone: Get out of here!
Steve: Oh yes, we're going to tell everyone that they should wash these jeans as LITTLE as possible. And when they do... wait for it... they should wear them in the freaking SHOWER!
Everyone: *slow clap leading to roaring applause*

hahaha @matthew.
these are total mom jeans, which last time i checked, were absolutely NOT sexy. good lord, could that waistband be any higher?

Wait, where have you guys been? High waists are all the rage now, although you have to be built like Kate Moss to truly pull them off. I'm just relieved to see the end of the plumber crack, although $295 is really pushing the limits of the pay-for-a-clean-conscious thing, especially when you can get organic jeans elsewhere for $68.
