chibi%20robo%20park%20patrol.jpgWhile the game Chibi-Robo was originally designed for the GameCube and focused on a tiny robot saving a family while cleaning their house, Nintendo’s come back with a sequel for Nintendo DS called Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol that encourages environmental stewardship and it just may become a hit. That’s because the original Chibi-Robo became a cult hit even as the GameCube was heading down the tubes.

In the game, players maneuver their tiny little robot throughout a beaten down park, working to restore and clean it up by planting flowers, building park equipment and defeating toxic enemies called Smoglings.

And the game lets players use the Nintendo DS touch screen to control actions like watering plants, squirting enemies or riding a bike. With Chibi’s good deeds converted into Happy Points that power him and the other friendly toys he meets along the way.

Despite the fact that the game itself has drawn good reviews, it’s currently only available at Wal-Mart. But if you purchase it before Nov. 15th you can enter to win one of 500 free tree seedlings from Nintendo to plant in a special "park-like" place of your own.
