Justin at materialicious is at it again, finding the most remarkable houses. Talk about recycling buildings; this is a conversion of a water tower into a residence in Soest, Utrecht, Netherlands in 2004. It is by zecc arcitechten of Utrecht, Netherlands.

This is neet, but to be Treehugger green, this should actually be used as pump storage! A windmill or solar pump fills the tank with water, and on off periods, gravity flow of the water produces useful work. It doesn't even have to be an electric generator. It could be a mill to grind grain or belts to drive machinery.
Of course, eventually, when energy is at a premium, economics would induce such a move anyway.
Looks beautiful! But didn't the Animaniacs do it first?
Now put up a windmill on top for power.Make it even more green.
