She’s adopted a Tsunami orphan, has given money towards a Cambodian wildlife sanctuary and now Angelina Jolie is off to the south of France with Brad Pitt to take residence at Chateau Val Joanis. The 1,000 acre estate is home to one of the oldest vineyards in the world that is still operating and, what’s even better is that it’s an eco-friendly one. The wine from Chateau Val Joanis was once sipped by the Romans and the Chateau still features visible remains of the Roman Villa that once existed there. According to its website, the French estate has survived many revolutions and has not had a change in its boundary lines since 1575. Along with organic grapes, the property also boasts a sustainable vegetable and herb garden that “makes up the first terrace” in addition to an olive orchard and loads of flowers and fruit trees. The estate seems to be one-of-a-kind, and we concur with Ecorazzi that we hope the Jolie-Pitt family recognizes its beauty and continues to operate with the green values of its previous owners. I have to say that only a limited number of rich and famous people command my utmost respect. Not because they don't do good things - most probably are decent people. But simply because the rich and famous have two highly influential resources - money and fame - that can be used to help solve our worlds' problems. And in my opinion, those with special 'gifts' have a moral responsibility to use them to make our common societies better. And she seems to take this attitude to heart. I have respect for her not because she is rich, or famous, or beautiful, but rather because she actually deserves respect. Thank you, Jolie, for being - in my opinion - the kind of person that the rich and famous should strive to be.
This estate is not organic. The article says that the grapes are organic, apparently they are not. The website says: "le recours aux traitements réduits au strict nécéssaire", this means that they use the least amount of products possible, so it's indeed "eco-friendly" if you want to call it like that. Also, the website doesn't mention anywhere that the winery is organic.
To the previous post: the winery already existed and functioned and wasn't for sale apparently, how does the couple contribute to the environment? Well, maybe they can make it organic...
Who cares what you negative people think about this couple or any others especially that you don't know. Sounds to me that most of you with your ignorance stupid comments and low life people. We have an organization that will find out who you are and put you on the internet about your personal life. I think the majority of you will regret all the bad things that will be said about you, plus a lot of made up things. Hide and watch scumbags
As an example, when Laurance Rockefeller died, his brother David, despite the Bohemian Grove Federal Bank monster that he is, was stuck honoring his promise of transforming the old family stables into a bio-regional farm... There was no plans to make it organic when the announcement was made in the New York Times... but so many organic enthousiasts fell on top of him, he had no recourse... soon enough the trendy Blue Hill restaurant agreed to open a second room in Tarrytown... but their sommelier told me organic wines were not good enough for their table... Maybe if the bottle had Angelina on the label... That's Hollywood.
