Etsy Gets Trashioned

In June, some crafty types from Etsy.com—one of our favorite online addictions (and productivity killers, but don't tell Graham)—banded together to promote handmade goods made from salvaged and repurposed materials. Comprising more than 70 artists worldwide, the Etsy Trashion Team, according to its ethos, is about "visualizing beauty in unconventional objects and materials."
The Brooklyn, New York-based Etsy Labs will be hosting a trashion-tastic trunk show on July 27, which happens to be this Friday, for any non-calendar-tracking types. From 6 to 8 p.m., expect recycled and upcycled art, home decor, clothing and jewelry for sale, as well as trashion-themed films, make-your-own-trashion activities, and complimentary refreshments. The event is free and open to all ages. Bonus: The first 25 trashionistas through the door will also get to take home a goodie bag.
Attendees are requested to RSVP via e-mail at rsvp [at] etsy [dot]com. Meanwhile, you can check out Team Trashion's blog for more eco-styling goodness.
