Bottled Water: It Gets Worse

Piers Fawkes of PSFK has a thing about Tasmanian Rain, the water bottled from, yes, Tasmanian rain. He notes that "For some, being green is a fashion statement rather than an action - and this is often reflected in the ‘cool’ blogs. Take for example this post from Charles & Marie that suggests folk should wash their hair in bottled water that ships all the way from Tasmania." Words fail us. ::Charles and Marie via ::PSFK

i'll never go on their site again! that's horrendous.

"the great lengths we go to in order to be more beautiful than the next woman"

The epidemic of bottled water is disheartening. There are so many diffrent useless varieties floating on the shelves of supermarkets. But its really not the four dollar bottled water that scares me. Its the 10 dollar value pack of 30 aquifina bottles that you can buy at any store.

When I was a kid/teen we used to use rainwater to rinse our hair for special occasions. Of course this would be accomplished by puting a basin out on the roof outside the bathroom window to catch the rainwater.

Is that a joke??

I would never give such a site attention on a big platform like TreeHugger. You just promoted their site to how many people, even if you panned it? I'm sure you are now their favourite Treehugger, and I bet you're just loving that thought.

Ridiculous. Its hard to believe how abusive people can be. What is even more horrifying....a company who tells people to wash their hair with imported bottled rain...or the people who do it? A sad day indeed.

This is disturbing. It is hard to fathom the kind of twisted mind that thinks to tell people to wash their hair with imported bottled rain water. "Tap water is ick"....while I'm not sure (will consult the Paris Hilton dictionary of invented adjectives) what "ick" is supposed to mean in regards to tap water, I will say that it is a sad day when consumers fall for this kind of brain numbing advertising.

This is great! Now I finally have something to rinse with after I've washed with my Black Rhino Horn barsoap!

clearly the person in charge of the marketing of this product does not have a bright future if that is the drivel they use to promote the product.

Realistically though, i think anyone so vain enough to wash their hair in bottled water is already doing so and not because of this add. Though i guess there are a lot of stupid people out there doing what big companies tell them to do.

Very sad indeed

Fuel Ghoul invites readers to suggest political mechanisms available to social networks, like tree hugger, that they may legislate change.

Where can we take action? and how can we let the rest of world know how evil bottled water is?
