560 Tesla Roadster Orders Placed
by Matthew Sparkes, London, UK on 07.25.07

560 orders have been placed for Tesla Roadsters, which is a large chunk of the 800 that the company claim they can make in a year. So, if you want one then you had better get in quick, the first cars off the line will be delivered in the fall.
Apparently, big-wigs at Tesla will get the first two, quickly followed by celebrity buyers such as George Clooney and Arnold Schwarzenegger. It's quite likely that Jay Leno will buy one as well, after his recent exclusive test drive - he loves cars and has a practically infinite amount of money to buy them. The first hundred cars off the line will be Signature 100 models - exactly the same in every way but for a small badge that says it's a Signature 100 model.
No doubt the rest of the 2008 models will sell out very quickly, especially now that the Roadster is getting featured in a racing game. If they do, then don't panic, there are other options, like the Lightning. ::The Mercury News via ::Auto Blog Green

If you haven't seen it in person, this car is even hotter than the pictures. It was outside of EPA yesterday in Sacramento, and all I have to say - it brings the hotness. I don't have $98,000 bucks, or the $25,000 for the battery replacement each 100,000 miles, but if I did . . . thanks to Tesla for showing that small, green and efficient can still be oh-so-sexy. (specs for the geeks: 0 to 60 in 4 sec, 200+ mile drive range, full charge in 3.5 hours, charges with 220 or adapter for 110)
Hi. I came accross your web site while searching for a different web site I found in 'Mother Earth News'. I was looking for non-fosil fuel using energy alternatives. I was also interested products and services. Have you considered a links page to various advertisers? Remeber, a link on your web site does not constitute your endorsement of them but rather thier endorsement of you. Thank You.
