LOL I think he got that. It's pretty good.
I can handle having fun poked at me with the other stuff (all cyclist disobey the rules, just as all car drivers talk on their mobile phone illegally).
But spreading urban myths that the carbon emissions from the construction of bikes are somehow excessive compared to other modes of transport are is not something treehugger should be doing.
Most bikes are steel or aluminium. Aluminum is fairly resource intensive, but there are only 10 to 15kgs of it in most bikes, you can lift them easily with one hand. I don't think even a sedan maxed out with 5 people would be able to have its passengers lift it. That doesn't even even count that it's usually a single passenger, nor the petrol used to power it.
So poke fun at cyclists, we look silly, we get rained on, some cyclists run reds and are arrogant (although we get to stereotype drivers back as mobile phone using megalomaniacs) but don't spread urban myths about the resource intensiveness of bike construction.
