Drink your Veggies: Pepsi Introduces Cucumber Soda

In case you are not getting enough vegetables, you may be pleased to learn that Pepsi in Japan has introduced cucumber flavoured soda pop. Google translates the press release as "the cola beverage of the refreshing tasting of the balance whose “cucumber” flavor and stimulus of the carbonic acid only of the cola are exquisite. Liquid color of the emerald green which has impact, produces the refreshing impression." We look forward to it with sandwiches at tea time. And please, no comments saying "why is this green?"- just look at it. ::Japan Probe via ::Neatorama

I am sorry but seriously what is enviromentally friendly about a large corporation producing non organic soda and shipping it around the world in non biodegrable plastic bottles.
I agree with the above commenter. It surprises me that you're posting this development as positive. Note that the soda is cucumber FLAVORED. If you want actual cucumbers, go to a farmers' market, or even a grocery store. And don't forget, you can find organic, sustainable food near you at http://www.eatwellguide.org/.

You shouldn't be sorry, but the original poster should be. There is nothing worth reporting here.
Drink your veggies? This is probably HFCS, artificial flavor, and artificial coloring. Like every other soda product from Coca-Cola and Pepsi.
I think the idea is that it's quite amusing. If it's green in color and has a vegetable on the label then it must be good for you and the environment... I mean it's literally green...doesn't get better than that. I think we can chalk this one up to the men and women in Pepsi Marketing and buy a few bottles for later resale on the internet along with unopened bottles of Crystal Pepsi.
I agree with the first commenter. Despite the colour of the beverage, there's nothing green about it. Seriously.
Fabi, you might notice that this entry is filed under "untrehugger". Does that answer your question?

uh.... huh. green. har har.
Also: i hear this tastes terrible. even for soda.
"And please, no comments saying "why is this green?"- just look at it."
In no way is this intended to be environmentally friendly or green. It's simply green-colored strangeness. Get a sense of humor.
I drank this today! It's very strange, but kind of good.
Turil, no it is actually filed (prominently) under "FOOD & HEALTH" and I fail to see what it has to do with any of those two. Thumbs down.
Oh man the boring and humorous treehuggers strike again.
that looks disgusting? but i would love to try it...wow, they need o make veggie soda here in the u.s.
Martin: take a look at the bottom of the article. You'll see:

So yes, it IS filed under 'untreehugger'. The 'food' classification at the top is only one of four...
JiltedCitizen, I think you meant "humorLESS". Definitely a high percentage of people here that just don't have a sense of humor.
Doug,
I actually do have a sense of humor. But I don't see what is so funny about giving free advertising to a company that is making and producing non-green products. Treehugger should be investing its time, energy, and money in worthy causes and companies that are trying to make the appropriate changes. Not companies like pepsi.
Fabi, I am so with you on this. Thanks.
wow i have tasted it, it completed my life
i now soley survive on the stuff
everyone should try sum
i mean yum !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I should try this stuff... living in Japan has its benefits... there are new drinks coming out each week... I can't keep up... nor do I care really... but this is one is interesting.
It's a sarcastic poke at Pepsi. Seriously people, we're all on the same side here. Can we just let bad humor slide? Geez... some of you act like my Christian ex-girlfriend...
