As we noted before, the Observer's Ethical Awards for 2007 are in the works. The nominees for second installment of the awards have been announced (we hugged a few of them here), and, as in last year's event, several TH favorites are shortlisted. The Natural Collection, whose founders we interviewed here, are up for "Best on-line retailer" along with Abel and Cole and Howies, and Infinity Foods, Gossypium and Fair Wind made the list in the "Best local retailer" category. "Best supermarket initiative" has been narrowed to Sainsburys' compostable packaging, The Co-op's fair trade wine and Waitrose for their work with the Waitrose Foundation. Eco-style tastemaker Ciel has been nominated in the "Fashion Product of the Year" along with Terra Plana shoes and The Hemp Trading Company; you can see similar brands and styles at the Ethical Fashion Event, which was originally scheduled for June 13, and has now been moved to September to coincide with London Fashion Week. No need to wait until September for more, though; the recipients will be announced award ceremony in London on June 7. ::The Observer's Ethical Awards 2007
