Speak Out in the New Forums
by Lloyd Alter, Toronto on 05. 9.07
Here is your chance to raise issues, get opinions, find answers and just generally waste more time online than you already do. New threads are popping up like a cat on an old sweater!
Sean has waxed eloquent about the green virtues of Cincinnati; what's happening in your burg? Are there enough TreeHuggers where you live to develop a local thread?

Question: Having studied Latin in school, I always say that the plural of forum is fora, but it didn't sound right in the title. Which should it be?

Why isn't there a link to them on the header? Maybe under interact?
LA: patience, it will come, they are looking for the button changing person. With a virtual company they are not just down the hall.

There soon will be.
Why phpBB?
Merriam-Webster lists both plurals with no note on usage, but a quick google search gives us 450 million hits for "forums", almost all of which are certainly relevant, whereas "fora" yields ~67 million, and none of the top hits look relevant.
I too studied Latin, but the answer is "forums." Trust me, I'm a linguist.
LA: Being in Canada I never trusted that upstart Webster what with his changing of spellings and dropping u's and l's , but Oxford is not so fair minded:
• noun (pl. forums) 1 a meeting or medium for an exchange of views. 2 chiefly N. Amer. a court or tribunal. 3 (pl. fora) (in ancient Roman cities) a public square or marketplace used for judicial and other business.
But since most of our readers are American I will go with your judgement (and the majority) after tomorrow.
I'm so glad there's going to be a forum! I was looking around here the other day for a way to ask a question that I couldn't find a post about, so this is great news!
Does anybody know or have any idea how I can find out what city in southern California is most concerned with going green or the whole green movement?
