First set up by recycled textile artist Louise Kamara in order to promote and sell sustainable design products to the public, London's Eco-Design Fair has grown into a unique retail and educational event, designed to bring well-designed, environmentally-aware products to the public in a manner that's both attractive and accessible. As more and more contemporary designers hop on the sustainability bandwagon, the Eco-Design Fair functions as a clearinghouse for such products, and is one of the few places in the country to see and buy some fantastic design products under one roof, directly from those who conceived and crafted the product. Products for sale include certified organic clothing, vintage fabric clothes and home accessories, bags, lighting and furniture, alternative technology, plus more information on developing a more sustainable lifestyle; the spring fair also included screenings of Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth, among other film screenings. The summer fair is scheduled for Sunday, June 17 (as part of London Sustainability Weeks) at the Hampstead Town Hall in London; check out their website for more details. ::Eco-Design Fair

At last December's Eco Design Fair we had one of our most successful days, so will definitely be there again at this one - for anyone who's interested! A great place to find new eco products and support small UK eco designers, plus Louise has to be one of the nicest people around in the eco world.
