Less is More: Parking Your Office

Parking cars wastes so much space; here is a way to use it, park your office on top. This design office near Tokyo Station is built from an aluminum prefab system called Tsubomi, covered in MocoLoco earlier. Why not do this everywhere? ::Tsubomi via ::Core77

"Why not do this everywhere?"
The concept of an office is (or at least should be) obsolete. People whose jobs it is to shuffle paper (or bits) around should not be commuting to do so, since shuffling of bits can be done just about anywhere.
I don't see any advantage of the lashup in the photo over having an office in the home. Even the expense of setting up an office in the home is less than buying an automobile, and uses much less energy. There might be a matter of supervision of office workers, but that is a matter that will just have to be dealt with. (The best way to deal with slacking off is to adjust your reward system to encourage accomplishment, and not the appearance of being busy.)
Wow, this is stooopid. Why not just build office buildings over all parking lots? Why not build buildings over all streets? Why not have the entire transportation infrastructure under one gigantic building and call it the city of the future?
Geez Louise!
It's really common in the suburbs in Japan to have the parking lot under the restaurant. Many of the Dennys, and other family style places near my house are all elevated with parking lots underneath.
