Stella McCartney's New Skin "Care" Line

We know that designer Stella McCartney is very eco-minded and it is apparent with each new venture. TreeHugger has covered her in the past from her vegan boots to her Pampering perfume. Now we’re bringing you the latest on Ms. McCartney and her new skin care line called Care. The line, launched this month at Sephora, “caters to those who’d say ‘never’" and is inspired by Ms. McCartney’s own personal philosophies. Care contains no endangered plants, genetically modified ingredients, petrochemicals, paraben preservatives or synthetic fragrances. In addition, it contains 100% certified organic active ingredients. Although it does seem to be on the expensive side, it is comparable to other luxurious skin care products and combines ultimate pampering and nature. Via ::Body + Soul and ::Hugg ::Sephora

Gentle use of a washcloth and warm water without soap does an excellent job at cleansing the skin. Any product that cleans by chemical action (soaps and cleansers), no matter how gentle, works by dissolving the oils your skin produces to stay healthy. 'Gentle' cleansers compensate by adding emollients, but the compounds they leave behind are not equivalent in function to your skin's chemistry. Moisturizers are often necessary because of the use of soap. Toners rely on oil-reducing astringents to make your skin look tight.

In general, your skin does a better job at taking care of itself than products can. Try ditching the soap and cleansers (where appropriate!), and see what effect it has on your skin. It's more ecologically friendly, you save a bunch of money, and your skin will probably look and feel better.

I have always been a huge fan of Stella but it concerns me that in this review you are only looking at the physical skin care line. Let's recognize that this new product has more packaging than most of the other organic skin lines on the market (Jurlique, Dr. Hauschka). There is an obscene amount of packaging that doesn't seem to be recyclable in any way. If this product was truly aligned within this movement that her brand assigns to, wouldn't it truly be a naked product, wholly organic and natural?

thank for articles - I've just bought this Cleanser - looks good, definitely :)

I'm a big fan of Stella McCartney. I would like to try these new line products. It's really good that she thinks even about endangered plants while creating cosmetics.
I wonder whether they are suitable for the summer skin care. Because in summer our skin needs a special care.
Recently I've written this article about
summer skin care.

Okay!
If you want info about the products - you can call or email me
I CANNOT ship samples internationally - only if they accompany an order. The products are sold in the UK, and the US, but I dont know where else!

Skin types...
If you have greasy oily skin
GO VEGAN
okay - and that'll clear up immediately
and use the foaming cleanser not the milky one

The line is amazingly pure and simple and easy and good for men and women and children.

We offer facials once a month - and mini facials a few times a week in the store - so just get in touch- and I will help you out.

I like spoiling people - so you will most certainly leave with a bag full of goodies!
