Stand in Front of This Microwave
by Lloyd Alter, Toronto on 03. 4.07
TreeHugger loves multifunction furniture and designs that take up less space, so we just had to show this integration of a 15" TV/DVD player with a 1200 watt microwave oven. No longer will you have to wait for commercials to get the popcorn! Designed for HE (Holland Electric) by Marcel Wanders, who decorates all of the items on his website with animals, hence the chicken. If he integrated a video camera that showed what was cooking inside, we would never have to worry about standing in front of the microwave again. ::Marcel Wanders via ::Trendhunter

Egg! That's bollocks... I guess it would work if you lived in only one room, but sheesh!
No that doesn't look like sustainable to me... why have yet another tv in your house consumer even more energy?!?
For those living in dorms, or renting single rooms, or who living in tiny studio apartments on tight budgets, this is a brilliant space saver. Aside from saving space it also alleviates the need to have two products with more packaging, plastic housing and stands/carts to place them on. It definitely hits the mark for "Reduce" on many levels.
Apparently some people can't project what other people's living conditions might be like, so they naysay any product that isn't perfect for them. Thankfully they aren't helping to design new and innovative products.
I think this product would definetly benefit those living in small spaces. Other than being functional to people who live in small spaces, I think this product could be used in the workplace as well.
My only concern would be the durability of the TV screen, being that it is the door of the microwave. From my experience the door tends to get greasy and sometimes dirty with food and ofcourse price/ would this product be affordable to (college students, and other people who live in small spaces). Generalizing, and I understand that this is not a rule of thumbs, people living in smaller spaces do so, because they cannot afford a larger space.
I was looking at some small travel trailers this weekend. This item could work very well in some of them.
Where can I buy one? (I'm serious!)
Well this is great, because I also love multi functional furniture and less space consuming, I also love multi functional appliances usually Maytag parts. The customers needs should be the main guidelines for the manufacturers.
