Global Warming Causes Cute Overload

Humane Societies around Toronto are overrun with cats and climate change is to blame.
According to the Star: Milder weather in cold seasons means cats are outdoors more, doing what comes naturally, say animal workers on the frontlines. The result is a population explosion that's stretching GTA pounds and shelters beyond their limits. "We've been racking our brains to figure out why we're seeing more cats in January and February," says Lee Oliver, spokesperson for the Toronto Humane Society. "Now we realize the spike in kittens and strays is because of the weather."
It's a trend that's developed over the past two or three years, said Kathy Duncan, manager of animal services for Oshawa. "When I came here 17 years ago, there was a clear breeding pattern of litters in spring and late summer/early fall. But now kittens are arriving much earlier. We're seeing newborns in January." ::The Star

From the Toronto Star:
February was Coldest in 28 Years
1. Outlying regions are the fastest growing. Therefore, more cats will be introduced and abandoned.
2. The heat bubble effect would also be growing fastest.
There are other issues, but will humbly suggest that not every ill that befalls society is the responsibility of global warming. The true dangers are scary enough.
Perhaps this is payback for that time in the Middle Ages, when cats were thought to have caused the Black Plague? In any case, concluding that two or three years constitutes any kind of "trend" displays a similar level of credulity.
Since in recent memory both 1998 and 2001 had similar or greater average temperatures as currently in Toronto, why is it that this plague of cats was not noticed then?
To Whom It May Concern :
I think that all countries should manufacture huge
vacuums that suck out sand from the ocean
depths and pump the sand out onto central land
areas.
The sand can then be used to make cement for
construction. By doing this, more space also gets
created for additional water from melting ice at the
poles.
This does not solve the problem of Global Warming
but it should alleviate a problem that will probably
not be reversed over night.

How is this the fault of global warming and not of morons who can't be bothered to neuter their cats and keep them indoors?
Simply getting the pets fixed will help eliminate pet overpopulation and many needless puppies/kittens/etc from being put to sleep since there are not enough people willing to adopt every kitten/puppy/etc. . Sterilization will help the pets increase their lifespan too. I advocate getting ALL pets steralized. This is truely one way you can show your LOVE to your pets!!!!!!!
i love kittens.
Well, I hope the article isn't suggesting too much this in any way is a good or humorous thing (like the title "Global Warming Causes Cute Overload"). Global warming of course will devastate our planet, kill off lots of species of animals, and most likely kill lots of poor people in third world countries. An accurate picture of stray overpopulated cats would show malnourished and sickly cats struggling to survive, not lots of little kittens playing on a pillow.
Tony,
I assume you're joking. I mean, afterall all you'll need is a gigantic ocean-sized vacuum and some gigantic tank to hold all the sand from the ocean. If you can design one, you certainly should win an engineering prize!
Let's put those kittens to work!
If you bring your pet in to the Jacksonville Humane Society, you need to realize that it is forever. There is no changing your mind after the pet has been adopted out to another family. It doesn’t matter if you have had your pet for ten years and you are suffering financial times. The Jacksonville Humane Society is not a temporary home for animals so you can get back on your feet.
