CA Boom 4, the west coast independent design show, is coming to Santa Monica, CA from March 30 to April 1. The show features dozens of both well-known and up-and-coming designers and architects, and, while it isn't focused on sustainability and sustainable design (like last year's HauteGREEN), there's a good bit of furniture, materials, accessories and prefab designed with sustainability in mind. Over the next week or so, we'll be taking a closer look at some of the green goods and designs you can expect to see at the show. Before we start, if you want to learn more about CA Boom 4, including who's going to be there, what it takes to get there, and info on past shows, check out their website. Now, on with the show; first on the list is Kirei USA...

Kirei has been on TreeHugger's radar for awhile now (we first mentioned it here and love its use in Iannone : Sanderson's Signature Console), and it's a versatile, stylish and very eco-friendly material. A quick refresher: Kirei Board is a strong, lightweight panel product constructed through a process of washing, weaving, and then compressing bamboo-like stalks of sorghum and a nontoxic adhesive. It can be used in furniture, cabinetry, flooring & ceilings, casework and other interior design elements, and is available in various sizes including 10mm, 20mm and 30mm in 3íx6í sheets, as well as 1íx1í prefinished tiles from Kirei USA. It brings a unique beauty to modern interior design, and can help your projects qualify for LEED credit.

Stay tuned for more sustainable design and prefab coming to CA Boom 4.
