Yup, these are made from petroleum jelly or petrolatum. Different types include Vaseline products and KY Jelly.

A "real issue" ? Yeah right. If you're desperate enough to use "sex toys" then I guess it is!
Desperate? Speak for yourself and stop projecting. Many many open minded couples have lots of fun with sex toys. It might not be for you, but don't be condescending.
This is a portion of the bigger issue of chemicals being in every component of your day, even the intimate ones. When I heard about the side effects of petrol based products (that being the synthetic estrogen effects) I really woke up! We started Love Me Naturally ( www.LoveMeNaturally.com) in order to provide only all natural lubes, and then found out that there are chemicals in sex toys as well - now we provide only clear glass toys.
This in itself might not seem like a big deal, but the purpose of treehugger's efforts as well as all the other green organizations is that our overall enviornmental outlook needs to be addressed because it impacts us from every angle.
Thanks for this great info! I've had problems for years with yeast infections and never did I think to link it to the sugar-based lubes that I was using during sex! It's great to see this info out there! And in terms of dildo's.....GLASS is the way to go!!!!!!!!
