THTV: Los Angeles Organic Vegetable Express 2:00

L.O.V.E. brings organic vegetables right to your door.

Are you tired and don’t want to get up off the couch, but really wish you had a persimmon to munch on? Don’t worry L.O.V.E. has you covered. The Los Angeles Organic Vegetable Express is a service that brings fruits and vegetables of your choice, right to your doorstep. All their boxes and delivery frequencies are completely customizable. You just tell ‘em what you want, and they’ll drop it off. Organic made easy!

If pesticides are gonna get in your body, chances are there they’ll get there through the fruits and vegetables that you eat. So going organic just makes sense. But, as with all things worth caring about, the solutions are complicated, like eating organic vs. local. There is even a university or two that offer degrees in organic farming. One thing is for certain though, any of these alternatives would be better than biting into that juicy genetically modified apple you get at your average supermarket. Mmmm… it’s like you can taste the gene splicing. Available formats: iTunes, MOV

The co-op delivery services are good for the farmer's too. When there is a specified number of subscription customers they can count on, it helps them to plan their growing season better.

In the northern CA area, we used Planet Organics. They also let you customize your weekly or bi-weekly box. The only downsize is that a box (about the size of a laundry basket) is a lot of food! Too much for 2 people (we found.) We ate better when we had it though!

LA you're soo lucky! Organic, LOCAL all the time. I just received our last winter share out east. Although the weather is feeling like the bulbs will be popping up any day now. I envy the fresh produce year round out west. I blogged with glee in 2006 when I picked up my first farm share. Going Local + Organic really makes a world of difference, all around. ciao. L.O.V.E. is not the only option in Los Angeles either. I have been using Organic Express since 2001.

Funny that such a car loving city could easily thrive on a 200 mile diet of organic foods.

Just thought you'd like to know that your feed in the Democracy player is not working. And I can't seem to find a way to subscribe from your site. Keep up the amazing work!
