Bill McDonough Designing Green Googleplex

Of course, we had to Google Map NASA's Ames Research Center. That's where Bill McDonough may be working for Google to build a million square foot green googleplex. Not much is known about it and NASA. McDonough or Google aren't talking. Its a good thing that Google is interested in environmental issues, because it is an energy hog; Its massive data centers, which house hundreds of thousands of servers by some estimates, suck up huge amounts of power. McDonough has suggested that their server farms be located in the midwest, where they can be wind-powered and the cold winters there would help reduce the amount of electricity needed to cool thousands of computers. ::SFGate
