Universities Unite Against Kimberly Clark

by Eric Kane, New York, NY on 12.15.06
Take Action

In August, we wrote about 650 businesses that announced a collective refusal to use Kimberly Clark products. This action was an attempt to force the manufacturer of Kleenex and other paper products to stop using trees clearcut from Canada’s Boreal Forest. Recently, several universities have launched similar campaigns. Rice University, joined American University and Skidmore College on the list of institutions of higher education that are hoping to stop the tissue giant from destroying North America’s largest ancient forest. Again, we urge our readers to make an effort to stop using these products and to encourage friends and businesses to do the same.
