TreeHugger on Oprah and... Rush Limbaugh?!

We're still all very excited about our appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show (go Simran!). You can see the video segment above.
We all know that a media appearance can lead to another. Martha Stewart might have helped us get noticed by Oprah (who knows?). But what does Oprah lead to? Well, in this case, it seems to be Rush Limbaugh. We did not expect that one.
Rush wasn't exactly tender to the whole Oprah episode, but his criticism of our segment was mostly a riff on "in the old days, we walked ten miles uphill in the snow... and it was good", so we're not taking it personally. But hey, if some of his millions of listeners are checking out the site today, a warm welcome!

My parents are both very conservative and are also conservationists. My father was a Marine and a defense worker, and my mother was a lifelong Boston Republican who railed against the "welfare state'.
There is nothing morally wrong with worrying about the future health of our population and economy, and there's nothing wrong with practicing personal responsiblity!
Just wanted to say hello to all the Rush listeners out there! :)

Now, I'll understand if you (treehugger.com) do not want to post this but... I'm kind of suprised that you all would link Rush's site after all of the things he continues to say about environmentalists... and the scientific community in general.
Matthew, we're welcoming Rush's listeners to the site, but we're not really under the illusion that Rush himself will change.
As for linking to his site.. Our link is not an endorsement of him and what he says, it's just showing people the source of the story we're reporting.

I think it's important that we all know how the "other side" thinks. Its amazing how many people listen to (and agree with) this guy. In order for us to impact the majority to cause anything to change, we have to understand what we're up against.
And if people click it, Rush may notice the traffic and mention TH again, it can't be a bad thing!
I usually dont comment on this site...but I do swing by it once a day just to see what up in the ‘green’ world.
I listed to Rush during my lunch hour, and I heard the segment that he talked about treehugger and oprah.
While I think this site is "ok", I hate Oprah.
And I think this site promotes Al (the lier)Gore way to much for his full of lies and theories and rhetoric movie.
Oprah has Gore on here show a little back, and she actually said: "thanks for being are Noah"!!! In the bible, Noah is said to have put every animal on a boat, because he knew what disaster was lying ahead (a worldwide flood).
Gore's not talking up a flood though, he's talking up Global Warming, and thinks that if we dont act fast were all going to die from it...the earth will keep getting hotter, the ice caps will continue to melt until theres none left, and the earth will get so warm that it triggers an ice age.
Yet this hypocrite uses his private jet flying all around the world warning people about pollution and global warming (aka: promoting his movie).
This guy is a tool, he's no better then michael moore.
