I saw this same design, sorta, in an old cabin in the California desert. I thought it went well with the rest of the "decor."

Funny, in the years after WWII during the great shortages in Europe my grandfather made an extensive system of sardine tin drawers to keep all the screws, nails, bolts and washers that he found. Somewhat reminds me of this, only his actually looked like a set of tiny drawers.
