The Complaints Choirs of The World

Art therapists would agree. No better way to get out your pent up “green” frustrations than by finding an artistic outlet. That’s why we love the idea of belting out one's environmental pet peeves by way of song. Global Warming got you down? Wish your city had better recycling programs or more bike lanes? These are some of the issues that the Complaints Choir of Helsinki and the Complaints Choir of Birmingham are singing about. While the Birmingham group are easier to understand, we think complaints sound way funnier in Finnish:

You can't get rich by working
And love doesn't last forever
In the public sauna they never ask
If it's ok to throw water on the stove
Old forests are cut down and made into toilet paper
And still all the toilets are always out of paper...

Maybe its time for TreeHuggers everywhere to unite and start our very own choir?

The Complaints Choir of Birmingham, says their website, invites people to complain as much as they want and to sing their complaints out loud together with fellow complainers. The first choir was organised in Birmingham followed by the Complaints Choirs of Helsinki, Hamburg and St. Petersburg. The complaints vary from small daily irritations into global issues. Anything that truly annoys people is useful material for the Complaints Choir. Many people sent in their complaints - about Birmingham, about other people, about world issues and most of all: about themselves. Watch the videos ::Helsinki ::Birmingham

Sadly, they don't speak the beautiful Norwegian language in Helsinki, although Finnish and Swedish are also nice.

And even funnier in Finnish.

The Helsinki choir is fabulous, but as Helsinki is in Finland, they're probably singing in Finnish, not Norwegian.
