Survey: What Kind of Tree Do You Have?

by Team Treehugger, Worldwide on 12.14.06
Interact (surveys)

John recently posted about the merits of real vs artificial Christmas trees, coming down on the real tree side. Others say that using the same tree over each year is better for the environment. (the mother-in-law has been using the same one for almost twenty years!) Where do you fit in?

UPDATE: Due to a technical error we have had to reset the survey. At 2:20 EST results were: real tree: 112 organic tree: 21 artificial tree: 75 Pagan: 34 and Pastafarian: 69

How about living trees? That seems like a common enough choice for people these days.

I bought a live rosemary tree that I can reuse every year... not to mention the fresh rosemary!

Our tree this year is a nice little arborvitae we bought to plant in the yard. We'll bring it inside for a week (being careful to acclimate it) then it will live a long, happy (for a tree) life in my yard.

You didn't have an option for a devout atheist like myself. So I went for group # 5. Although I don't actually resent the attention paid to this holiday. I'm just amused by all the fuss.

LA: Isn't Dawkinism the most devout form of atheism?

I got my tree from an old roommate who converted from Christianity to Judaism (I'm not making this up). It's going on year 20 of use. I think it's still got another 10 years in it. Still love a real tree, though.

pastafarians reprezent!

i go out and find an organic, free-range, local, live pirate and use him/her for decoration.

don't forget to put club soda in their water so they don't dry out and get droopy.
