I love the winter solstice; from now on, for those of us in the northern hemisphere, every day will be a little bit brighter and a little bit longer. Soon we might even have snow. In the UK, pagans and druids are gathering at Stonehenge (Friday Morning) while in Kensington Market in Toronto it is the wonderful Festival of Lights.

this poll is so offensively inoffensive
i doubt most people even know the dates of any of these but christmas and new years, and boxers day in some countries

Could I suggest that you should perhaps include January 6th, The Epiphany. For many Christian traditions this a significant date as well as Christmas day, indeed for some groups it is the 'big day' and not the 25th.

for the record, Solstice is not officially until the 22nd this year (and will be next year too!)

Happy Solstice to everyone! Nice to know I'm not alone in my appreciation of the holiday for the Sun.
