Portovert Magazine: For Eco-Savvy Couples
by Kara DiCamillo, Newport, Rhode Island on 12.14.06
For all those eco-savvy brides and grooms to-be, before giving up hope on a green and stylish wedding, you can now turn to Portovert Magazine. Launching in January 2007, the monthly, online magazine will focus on content that empowers engaged couples with inspiring, eco-chic ideas for engagement parties, bridal showers, weddings and other events. But as the description states, “don’t expect to find inspiration for wheat bundled arrangements and DIY hemp dresses here.” It’s the paperless equivalent to Elegant Bride, Martha Stewart Weddings, and InStyle Weddings. Portovert will demonstrate how to source these “luxe” looks so they’re environmentally (and socially) responsible. Sounds fantastic to us, now all we need is that…(ahem). Via ::LOHAS

I swear, for a while I was trying really hard to figure out why there was a picture of a bride committing suicide.
I've now come to the conclusion that she's probably standing on that chair for some other reason. But I still can't figure out why.
:)
For those who may be looking for organic wedding and party dress options...
I would like to introduce our new company, Oliva Luca.
We offer an organic cotton sateen fabric option for all of our wedding, bridesmaids and party dresses. And are constantly on the search for additonal sustainable fabric options to add to the mix that are appropriate to the designs.
On the site you will find a fabulous on-line design tool so that you can create your own style that compliments your body and design tastes.
We also offer a line of skirts using Harmony Arts organic cotton prints.
Our company operates under an environmentally sustainable business model, including sending (and receiving) all of our shipments with GreenTag offsets.

That's exactly the impression I got, too. I wonder what the original context of the photo is and what my impression says about me.
I vaguely remember seeing that "standing on a chair" thing in some movies.. Probably the tradition of some culture.
I don't know about Suicide, but I was wondering why she was on top of a chair, and why the picture seems to be focused at the feet, and the upper half of the women is outside the picture?
shes going to throw the bouquet! shes standing on the chair in order to be up higher than the throng of bridesmaids vying for the flowers and the chance to be next to marry (its a tradition, i thought was quite common until i read these comments). i tend to hide out during bouquet tosses.
