Green Design Books: Sustainable Living
by Lloyd Alter, Toronto on 12.11.06
In time for the Holidays, we visited Toronto's Ballenford Books and asked Susan what's hot this year in green design books, and will list one every day this week.
Sustainable Living: 25 International Examples
by Dominique Gauzin-Miller. Dwell says "The variety of inspiring green design is impressive, and the plethora of practical information will help get your own projects under way." MocoLoco says "25 sustainable houses, 18 different countries, five continents, in both rural regions and urban areas. That is testament to the global phenomenon that is sustainable building – too bad most new homes aren’t being built that way. The good news is that all the homes in Sustainable Living are sustainable and that clueful architects and builders are building them, not just talking about sustainability. Better yet, the homes in this book are attractive and cost less to operate, which may end up being what really tips sustainability into the mainstream." We say it looks interesting.
