Morph Your Bra for the Environment

There was a time when going bra free was gaia-chic. Burning a bra was a political statement. But next time you see a braless woman, she may be just shopping. Triumph has introduced the "No! Shopping Bag Bra" in Japan. Made of ecopet fiber, a polyester which is manufactured from recycled plastic bottles, the bra is inherently eco-friendly (now that's upcycling!) What makes this bra truly unique is its secret identity as a Bra Ranger (after the mighty morphing Power Rangers) which can be quickly converted into a shopping bag. One half of the shopping bag is folded into each bra cup, acting as a bit of padding when the bra is worn. When not performing its primary duties carrying one load or another, the bra sensitizes the public to the wastefulness of over 30 billion plastic shopping bags a year used in Japan.

I guess I don't see the point. Who is going to take off her bra so she can use it as a shopping bag? I'm guessing almost nobody, which puts this in the category of useless stuff, and to me it doesn't matter how upcycled something is if it's ultimately useless. Not to mention the problematic association between women and shopping... Is there a jock strap that coverts into a shopping bag?

I have some Japanese friends, and I think in Japan this could become a trend which would spread the word about waste bags. Anyone out there tried using it yet? I'd love to see the reaction from the crowd.

Jock strap shopping bag: now that's a good idea. In a heavily ironic tone, she thinks: It would give men that important padding they need to attract the opposite sex too. Hmmm, wonder if Triumph has a suggestions box?

Ummm, as a guy who brings his own bags to just about everything puts other peoples bags into recycling bins. Reuses a ton of stuff.

I generally see the normal females as being wasteful, and those unattractive. Ohh is that why I have no girlfriend? Ohhh, guess I should lower me standards.

I hate substandardizing things, it has allowed America to turn to crap.
