Canada's Military is the largest contributor to the Federal Government's greenhouse gas emissions, and while we are not thrilled with the Government's ignoring of the problem (At the Nairobi Climate Conference, Canada and Australia tied for being "Fossil of the Day",) the National Defense forces are not. They are looking for consultants to help find ways to rebuild barracks and housing, much left over from the cold war, and find other ways to reduce emissions. Even as they expand the armed forces and buy new equipment to support the troops in Afganistan, they have a big target: "Meeting our commitment will be challenging in view of the additional personnel and the new requirement for a total additional reduction of one megatonne by the federal government itself."
