greenliving Magazine- Spreading the Green Word

by Lloyd Alter, Toronto on 10.31.06
Culture & Celebrity (books)

greenliving.jpg Greenliving Magazine is subtitled 'health and beauty for you-and for the earth." We don't cover the health and beauty beat, but were intrigued to see Dawn Danby of Worldchanging on the cover, and found that its contents were more diverse, including a Healthy Home section, information on socially responsible investing, and profiles of Canadian Eco Heros, (including Dawn) which is easier to read online than in print- why did they break them up with "continued on page" when half the page is blank? It's produced by Green Living Enterprises, who also did EcoOptions. Much of the content is online at ::Green Living Magazine.

I love this magazine! I discovered it back when it was in its second issue. With so many magazines based in the States, it was wonderful to find one that's Canadian and based in my home city of Toronto. No more frustration of reading about the latest new green product and then realizing that it would cost $20 in shipping and $50 in duty to order. I have a local environmental store where I buy the hard copies, even though it's available for free online, because I like to support the publishers.
