Big Game Hunters

Vlaemesch—a new word that stands for "Flemish traditions, humour, design, simplicity, the surreal, no-nonsense, solidity and quality." These moosehead, deer and reindeer sculptures are modernised, abstract versions of the trophy animal head. They are an ironic statement against hunting. Their lightness and simplicity are in direct contrast to the reality of the chase and the stuffing of the animal heads. Made of light birch from sustainable forests, they come in a flat-pack, so can be easily mounted in the living room or up at the cottage. Created by a group of Belgian designers, this work makes use of clever optical illusions, with a slightly surrealistic note. :: Vlaemsch :: London Design Festival

Yeah! Let's kill trees!

I'm assuming they're an ironic statement against trophy hunting, not hunting in general. There is a huge difference between the two. I know plenty of hunters who deeply respect the animal they are killing, and who would never mount trophies on their walls. An across-the board, anti-hunting agenda is ridiculous for any omnivore to consider.

hunters, although often drive large gas guzzling vehicles have been long time protectors of our natural habitat out here in the west. many wetlands and rivers have be protected by sportsman.

I fail to see how an "ironic statement against hunting" belongs on treehugger.com.
Hunting, fishing and foraging produces literally tons of local, sustainable and culturally appropriate foods. Hunting is one of the more ecologically friendly forms of food production so why is treehugger.com promoting simplistic prejudice against hunters?

Thanks to the treehuggers, that left the above comment, for defending hunters. I’m a hunter and an environmentalist and would like to mention that wildlife populations in the United states are carefully manage and this is fully supported by hunters and the so is the protection of wildlife habitat.
