Sun Jar: Storing Sunshine

“Jam jars store jam,the Sun jar collects and stores sunshine so that you can use it at night.” It looks like a jam jar, but is jammed full of solar cells, batteries and LED's so that it sucks in those rays all day and gives them back at night. No switches and less practicality, it just sits there and looks sweet. Designed by Tobias Wong, from ::Suck UK via ::UberGizmo
Reminiscent of our earlier ::Solar Plant but less phallic.
Its a solar lawn light in a bottle, woohoo!
Kinda makes me think of catching fireflies and putting them in jars. It looks really nice. I wonder how long the light will last though.
As the PR lady at Suck UK, the manufacturer of this design, I would like to say that the battery life specified is 5 hours, so plenty of time to enjoy a lovely long Sun Jar lit dinner!

Looks like Amber can the frosted glass that make it warm.
This would be a perfect DIY project for MAKE or Instructables. Do we have any EE's in the audience who could come up with a parts list and wiring diagram?

i dunno what an EE is but i produced the sunjar
i can tell you how to do make it if it's ok with the designer, it's nice n easy, i can especially tell you if anyone knows anyone knows any producer etc jobs going

right now, i'd say these really do SUCK! ... i bought one from suck uk weeks ago ... it eventually arrived ... i followed the instructions ... it doesnt work ... i wrote to suck uk ... they havent replied ... right now all i've got for my £20 is a largely non-recyclable load of junk! ITS SUCKS!!!
they still suck big time ... suck uk still havent even responded ... product dont work ... the customer service is shite
