Unlike The London Design Festival, which is open to all comers, London Fashion Week, which also takes place this week, is for fashionistas only daaaarlink! Well, and some TreeHugger journalists we’re hoping - look out for our upcoming coverage – if we get in that is! For everyone out there who can’t be at the side of the catwalk this week, but wants to see some of the beautiful ethical clothing coming out of the UK right now Pecha Kucha has informed us of two fantastic eco-boutiques. Gaia in Manchester and Last, a shoe and accessory shop in Brighton. Rosy Ellis of Gaia says that “As designers, Darryn and I want to showcase fashions that lead on direction and style without compromising workers’ welfare or damage to the planet.” While Alex Herdman of Last says “I want my customers to be able to choose shoes and accessories that are not only beautiful and well made, but are sustainable in all senses — they are made to ‘last’.” TreeHugger has also mentioned Equa before, the eco-fashion store in London. While many of the labels that TH loves are available online it just can’t compare with seeing, feeling and trying on those gorgeous clothes and shoes in the flesh!
