Berkeley Mills Sereno Kitchen

We have hugged Berkeley Mills furniture before, but they have a new kitchen design out, made from bamboo, jarrah (a sustainably harvested Australian wood) and recycled glass countertops. We suspect that the price is high, but the sustainable kitchen was never prettier. ::Berkeley Mills

Interesting...glass...really? I am left wondering just what the energy ussage is to remelt glass and then package and ship. It has to far exceed the energy consumed by other product you mention in your post, wood. Since wood is harvested with relatively low energy cost I see no comparison. However, while the wood mentioned is noted as "sustainable" it did come half way around the world on a ship which seems a huge waste of energy especially since domestic sources are readily available.
