by Sean Fisher, Cincinnati, Ohio on 08. 1.06
It is time to vote for one of the finalists in our T-Shirt Design Contest. The designer that TreeHugger readers pick as the winner will receive $400 to spend at 3RLiving.com and will have their t-shirt printed at the TreeHugger CafePress store. You can find all five final t-shirt designs here. Please vote for your favorite finalist below.

Bummer, I was hoping to become a finalist. If you want to see what my designs where, you can view them here:

editor note: I quite like them, actually. I wasn't one of those who picked finalists, though. Not sure what criteria were used.
Not a fan of any of these, really. I've seen several designs of others that were much more original and more creative than these entries.
I mean c'mon, a John Deere ripoff?
I think TreeHugger would have been best served to allow their readers to narrow down the finalists instead.
It's too bad all candidates weren't put to a vote, although I suppose there was too many entries to make this practical.
Congrats though to the winner though, whomever he/she may be.

editor note: We had about 60 entries, so yes, that's a lot. But we're talking about doing that in the future, and maybe picking a second winner for a second t-shirt from all the non-finalists and letting readers vote. It's too early to tell what exactly will happen, though.
Looks to me like they selected shirts that incorporated "treehugger" into the image/logo.

editor note: It was a contest design for a TreeHugger t-shirt, so they all had that.
i'm a big fan of the "brilliant ideas" entry... it's the only one that looks professional in my opinion... too bad it's down in the polls. come on treehuggers.. vote in some good design here.
I think you need to note that they are not listed in the voting section the same order they are in the previous post where it shows them all - I nearly voted for the wrong one.
lara, good point...this is now fixed. thx!
The inline resizing of those images make a lot of them look worse than they actually are. To get a better representation view the images full size (right click, view image, depending on your browser)
pls vote for eddie
When is the last day to vote?
Can we get some other colors besides white? You know, for those of us "sweaters." :)
how about pls vote for emily? hers is the most fun!
OK, wow. I'm a little startled by the low quality of the finalists. Not sure what kind of saturation voting campaign the leading entries are trying to pull, but the lightbulb one (Jenney) is the only decent design here. Who's with me?
maybe people like things that are creative and new, and not just "designed." i happen to like things that are less designed, especially if the concept is better. concept is a big part of design.
sorry, i forgot to mention the fact that no one seems to know when the voting ends. silly me.
Just because something is simply composed doesn't mean that it lacks creativity or that it wasn't "designed." Sometimes it's harder to create something simple. Also all of these designs are very economical in the respect of the reproduction process.
is this a "t shirt" design contest or a logo contest?.
it seems that only one person has designed to the intent of the competition.

totally agree! not just a logo,it is also where and how you put the logo on a t shirt!
i'm seriously disappointed by the finalists. it's really not because i'm bitter not to have been chosen, but i would expect to be impressed by the finalists. I think the idea behind a t-shirt is get attention, and I don't think I would give any of these a second glance. not to mention the "wrap-around" one would be difficult to print. good design requires not only good concept and aesthetic qualities, but also some knowledge of your medium.
Actually, I believe that most of the entries were submitted on a tshirt template/format, and that Treehugger separated out the artwork in the case of 4 of the finalists in order for readers to be able to see it more clearly for voting purposes. Perhaps Treehugger could also post the tshirt template submissions as well, if this is an issue that is keeping some readers from making an objective decision.
I feel that people have been cheating the system. People should vote once and only once.
i actually wrote another comment before the one that was posted, though it was apparently censored. i noted that jennifer received about 60 votes in a row around noon on the 2nd. i also noted that jenney and heather, who had been trailing by well over 100 votes, were suddenly within 40 votes or so of the leaders.

I like all of the designs and think they're all quite creative. I especially like Jennifer's "real hug" wrapped around the love handle. Good luck to all the contestants!
are they tracking the ip addresses the votes are coming from?
