Time Magazine on Shrinking Down the House

Design & Architecture (less is more)

Living with Less is going mainstream- Time magazine gets small and covers it this week, with TreeHugger faves like the Micro Compact Home, the Katrina Cottage, Tumbleweed Homes and Geoff Warner of the Wee House. Says Geoff: "When you build smaller, you can put in a lot more quality than you can in a larger space.", something we have been saying for a long time. ::Time Magazine

living with less is not going mainstream. People are continueing to buy bigger houses, and buying more stuff to put in them, You clearly have been reading your own site to much.

Facinating concept. It made me realise that my desire to live on a jacht is not that different. I have suggested often that people should build homes like they build jacht interiors. Everything is so much better designed in modern jachts.

And once again I must say that it´s the space between dwellings that´s a much greater waste of resources than the space inside your dwelling.
I think a spacious appartment is a fine luxury to revel in, but then I´m going by Euro standards where 120m2 (~1200 sq feet) is considered huge.
It´s all a matter of scale
