Instant Survey: Does Your Local News See Green?

Last evening as I was taking care of some housework with the TV going in the background I was stopped short by not one, but three segments on our local news about progressive green projects taking place in our community: a gas station capturing vapors to re-use for fuel, a bank building a green office and a local nature trail being built. Sure Madison is known for being a progressive community, but you wouldn't typically glean that impression from the local broadcast news. How's the coverage on TreeHugger-type stories in your local news media?

The Annapolis Capital in Maryland has been doing wonderful green articles. Topics have include: Climate change and how it effects you now, efficient driving/hypermiling, composting, eco-clothing, and recycling/reusing tips.

Yesterday, they had a reporter covering our CCAN meeting, so I expect to see an article on that. They are truly excellent!

I have never heard an article I would call green on my news. It appears others have though. They complain about our bad air quality and explain it scientifically. That's about as green as they get. Where do you live where you green news? I need to move to a greener place

Our newspapers almost are negatively reporting green endeavors.

There is quite a battle between development and environmental safety here. They are seen as mutually exclusive and unfortunately since the ones with money are on the development side, news is often skewed that way.
