Eco-Friendly Car Insurance

You can now drive and insure your car with a good conscience. Ecoinsurance is the UK's first car insurance that claims to offset some of a car’s CO2 emissions at no cost to the customer. They will do this by contributing to projects like reforestation, renewable energy sources and third world education schemes. There is an extra 10% discount on insurance for those with hybrid cars. You can calculate just how bad your car is for the environment with a handy little chart. The results are shocking—a Land Rover emits 12.53 CO2 tons annually and 1,837 pine trees are needed to absorb those emissions. Just to drive home the point, a chart graphically depicts those trees--it takes a lot of scrolling down to see them all. They are also providing an eco-friendly repair network. Their appointed mechanics recycle materials like used oil and old bumpers. The policy is sold by Co-operative Insurance, which is associated with the Co-operative Bank ( see Treehugger), and like the Bank, they have an Ethical Engagement Policy to guide the social, ethical and environmental aspects of their investments which includes human rights, sustainability and labour rights. :: Ecoinsurance

Whcih Land Rover produces that much CO2, they make more than one car? Try not to be so vague.
Co2 offsetting sucks:The science is unproven, it can cause more problems than it solves, it allows people to keep polluting.
Surely much better to spend the money you would have spent on co2 credits to buy a less-polluting model of car. That way you are guaranteed to reduce your carbon emmissions.

The Range Rover and the Range Rover Sport with the 4.2L supercharged V8.
You can find that info here or here.
Of the vehicles they offer, greenhouse gas emissions range from 11.6 to 12.2 tons every 15,000 miles. It's a fairly narrow range, so the specific vehicle isn't that relevant.
Land Rover products CO2 emmisions range from 205 to 376 g/km.
I'm not sure how that compares to the EPA rating or whoever does it over there.
I have an 03 range rover HSE, I would like to get more (any) info on if there is a biodiesel conversion kit? I had a toyota tundra and traded it in. But i wake up everyday and wonder why I bought the biggest polluter on the road. Its got to change (the environment) and i am pushing myself to do something even if it cost me lots of money to do so, but in the long run I will feel better. I drove to arkansas 2 weeks ago about a 4 hour trip and it cost me 143.00 in gas. I did a mountain bike race of 62 miles and thought to myself, there is know reason i couldn't have driven a toyota hybrid or something similar. I'm trying to guilt myself out of this SUV, but it is so amazing to drive and I needed the tax write off for my business, 2 poor excuses but at least i took the time to write this letter, it's a start I think...
