Clinton Global Initiative - September 20-22, 2006 : NYC
by John Laumer, Philadelphia on 08.26.06

The “CGI” is next month hosting a conference of famous leaders and business people featuring those who will make a personal commitment, to solving “big problems.” The output could be worthy of our attention because one of the principal topics will be Climate Change . We take it as a sign of the times (tipping point in awareness achieved) that none of the listed sponsors of the conference are organizations you’d expect to find mentioned in a TreeHugger posting. Familiar names do crop up on the agenda for the 20-22 September event, however: Gus Speth, William McDonough, Carol Browner, Jeremy Legget, and Richard Branson, for example. Hope one of them gets a chance to make some seminal remarks about the importance of design.

Climate Change - the most pressing issue facing us today, anything less than total concentration on this predicament is stucking our heads in the sand and hoping it will go away. Its good to see so many windmills going up in northern Ontario, it seems like a progressive move.
