Bruce Willis Gets Electric

Culture & Celebrity

bruce%20willis.jpgInspired by his role as a rascally racoon in the eco-toon Over The Hedge, Bruce Willis has decided to purchase an electric car to replace his gas-guzzling vehicle. Explaining his change of heart, Willis said; "I live in Los Angeles and spend about five hours a day in a car. I do know a lot of people who used to own those big cars but are changing over. I'm getting one of those electric cars because it makes sense to use an alternative to digging up oil." ::Via Cinemas Online

5 hours in a car every day? Holy Schneikes!

Will the Tesla hold up for five hours a day of driving, though? It sounds like he needs a few of these stashed around LA to keep up with his demanding driving schedule.

You apparently must not live in L.A. He didn't say he spent five hours each day *driving* he said he spent five hours in his car. Most of that is probably stop and go at 5 mph in traffic jams where an electric hardly uses up any juice at all. By contrast, an internal combustion engine is slurping down gas all five of those hours even if it's going nowhere at all. "Fortunately" gas stations are stashed around L.A. for just such purpose.

what if they make em with ultracapasitors, then make recharging like in radiocars where u just drive under a metal plate to recharge the capasitor? in citys u should be able to drive under a recharging on the roads and if the charging only takes a few sec?
