Orikaso Folding Dinnerware: Smaller, Better, Lighter

This gives new meaning to the term "flatware"- dishes, cups and bowls designed to travel flat and fold into useable shapes. What a great space saving idea- you can file your dinnerware instead of needing cupboards for it. It was designed with sustainability in mind: "We have reduced our environmental footprint: By designing a reusable packaging sleeve, this keeps your products clean in transit (or dirty if you can't be bothered to wash up); By having all our production under one roof; By recycling all our waste from manufacturing the product at our factory; By using polypropylene (a material recommended by Greenpeace as an alternative to PVC)." Designed with camping in mind but we see a much wider market, it is just so clever. ::Orikaso via ::Coolhunter

Clever, but not so useful. The bowl has tabs that hold it together -- if you fill the bowl with ramen and boiling water, the tabs unfold as often as not. Fine when you are out camping, but disastrous in an office setting. Also, out of three sets that I bought, two sets had snaps on the dinner plate that broke immediately out of the package.

A for idea, F for quality.

I can't figure out how to order the Orikaso dinnerware that travels flat.

Regarding Neshuras comments, Hi Neshura, apologies that you appear to have bought broken sets. We have since designed products without any studs to avoid such breakages in transit.

Regarding the bowl tabs this is a different matter that we have no experience of whatsoever, I can only presume it is a matter of correct assembly. If you would like to get in touch we will explore this with you directly.

I look forward to hearing from you.
