This week the winners of the Observer Ethical Awards were announced at a special ceremony in London. It appears that the first year of these awards has been a great success, bringing important sustainability projects to a much wider audience. Some of our favourite planet savers were among the winners, as well as a wealth of incredible projects in all the categories – all of which deserve recognition for their efforts. Some of the winners were: Architecture For Humanity for Innovation of the year – the best consumer product or service displaying ethically minded ingenuity and the potential to decrease our ethical footprint. The Natural Collection for Retailer of the year - readers were asked to vote online for the retailers they felt were the most committed to the best ethical values. Annie Lennox accepted the award for Campaigner of the year on the behalf of Make Poverty History . This was another reader-voted category, for the ethical campaigns and campaigners that had made the biggest difference in 2005. Today’s Observer magazine is dedicated to green and ethical living, featuring all winners of all the awards and the inspirational work they are doing.
