"Unexpected Green" Finalist: Wedding Invitations

by Sean Fisher, Cincinnati, Ohio on 05.11.06

Cream-BrownHi.jpgLorry Strother's entry into our "Unexpected Green" Contest would fit right in with our recent post on green weddings. While trying to plan her own green wedding, Lorry stumbled upon Seal and Send's 100% recycled "Environment" paper (clever name, huh?) for invitations. Now, you wouldn't necessarily think that recycled paper from a company that sells wedding invitations would be "unexpected", however, as Lorry states, unfortunately it is: " I have yet to find a single other invitation manufacturer who doesn't EITHER use being Earth-friendly as their main selling point OR say absolutely nothing at all about the composition of the paper they sell. It may not be much, but I congratulate Seal and Send for recognizing that at least some of us do care!" Thanks Lorry!

Imagine my surprise when I found these tree-free invitations http://wedding-invitations.invitesite.com/summer_cosmo.html
They are beautiful and oddly there's no fuss on the website about which are treefree and which aren't, it is just one of the choices...

I too print modern, eco-friendly invitations - I tell my customers that my recycled papers may have inconsistencies and flaws, but as in life - this is what makes them beautiful and unique!

Tree-free invitations are very beautiful and unique. I like the recycled cotton ones, they have a feel you won't find anywhere else and they will stand-out with your guests. I also wrote an article about eco-friendly invitations on my blog...
