"Unexpected Green" Contest: Time to Vote
by Sean Fisher, Cincinnati, Ohio on 05.11.06
The entries are in, the finalists picked, and the survey is ready - it is time to choose the winner of our "Unexpected Green" Contest sponsored by Earth. Please take a final look at each of our five finalists and vote for what you think in the most unexpectedly green entry. The finalist that tallies the most votes by Wednesday, May 17th will be awarded a $350 gift certificate to the shoe pioneers Earth. The finalists are:
Kerry Hassler's Ingeo Corn-Based Bedding
Brenton Klik's Highway Signs
Ken Zemach's US Army Rechargeable Batteries
Lorry Strother's Recycled Wedding Invitations
Bryan WIlson's Organic Cotton Sheets

thanks!
The "Highway Signs" seems like a "non-starter" as in, just follow the posted speeds, but the rest are all great steps forward. I especially appreciate the co-opting of the big marketers and contractors of the "organic way." And it is working because there is a constituency for such items and, as with the Army, it is saving money. I hope this is a long term and "tip of the iceberg" happening! Thanks for letting everyone know.
So, is the contest over? Deadline is passed, but no winner announced, so was it extended? Just curious.
