Helmet with Wind Powered Generator

helmet%20with%20power.jpgI mean, we all know how people are complaining that big windmills are ugly. And we all know how Ron Dembo of Zerofootprint says that we should be our own generators. what better solution then putting turbines on our heads? We don't even need wind, we just have to move. This solution to our problems generates enough power to run an LED light and costs only $ 609.00! We want one on every head. ::Seihin

and while youre at it maybe go to a bookstore, i mean i know you know of other people who say things like this, locals like wayne have been saying it for decades, people like todd, pembina... jeez. transparecny is good but maybe try to hide some stuff every now and then?

People think windmills are ugly? They look a heck of a lot better than coal power plants with all that nasty pollution coming out of the top!

Great, a manufactured plastic device with only one purpose, to generate light pollution. :(

Hmm, the waste-to-energy ratio on this one would be pretty bad. And a cheap generator's bearing or brushes would run out in no time (it's a problem with good ones, and this doesn't look good ;) !).

I think there'd be better ways to generate your own power (Army's investigating piezogenerators in footwear). Less obtrusive, less likely to require maintenance, and less stupid looking :)

Hope the humor won't fly over some people's heads (and get stuck in a micro-windmill)! ;)

I carry two solar LED lights on my backpack already (http://solarray.blogspot.com/2006/03/solar-video.html). Now you want me to carry a wind turbine on my hat? And I don't usually wear a hat!
