In the world of office seating, Greenguard Certification is one of those labels you want to look for. Awarded by the Greenguard Environmental Institute, the certification is only given to products that meet safe indoor air standards, without any restrictions or modifications to product design, materials, or processes, according to press material. Basically, this means their products don't emit harmful chemicals while you work away—that's a nice thing to be certain of, isn't it? Interior Design tipped us off to Izzydesign. All seating produced by this furniture manufacturer is Greenguard certified—a rare feat in this industry. Plus, the firm is geared towards a lower price point, so products are significantly cheaper than Greenguard certified products from, say, Herman Miller or Haworth. We found the Bailey Ergonomic Chair listed for $240. Maxwell, above, is $595. Check out additional Greenguard certified seating here, here, and here. ::Interior Design ::Izzydesign ::Greenguard Environmental Institute

This isn't just a fad, this Green movement. It's important, and office chairs can do their part too...At least that's our belief. Anyways, in keeping with this post's topic, we've launched a section of chairs that are actually certified by Greenguard - a certification agency that tests products for contaminents, recycalability, etc. (Basically, if theyre certified, they're green.) Anyways, like we said, we don't think its just a fad. Every part of our daily lives should have an ear towards the environment, so why should office chairs be any different?
