Stop Daylight Savings and End Global Warming

We read that the US government is proposing to add a month to Daylight Savings Time next year to "save energy". However, TreeHugger research indicates that eliminating Daylight Savings Time could go a long way to solving the problem of Global Warming. The California Energy Commission says that "Daylight Saving Time "makes" the sun "set" one hour later." TreeHugger Labs ran the numbers and has determined that If DST runs half the year for an hour a day, that is fully 1/48th of our total exposure to the sun that could be eliminated with the cancelling of Daylight Saving Time, almost 2% of solar heat gain annually. That's huge! So why is the Government extending DST? We can only think that the powerful solar energy and photovoltaics lobby is having its way. Why else? So TreeHugger says Take Back the Night and Fight DST. The last thing we need right now is an extra hour of sunlight.
